Elizabeth A. Schutz has over 30 years of experience in the Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine Division managing and directing all facets and phases of financial and administrative management. She has expertise in the management of general appropriation, endowment, federal and non-federal grants and contracts, and gift funds.
Ms. Schutz has skillfully negotiated and directed collaborative agreements with other research institutions and research laboratories, collaborative agreements with community enterprises and representatives, and contracts for facility usage and employment services. She has been responsible for recording, tracking, dispersing, and reporting payrolls, stipends, casual, bi-weekly and monthly checks. She also has experience in controlling all expenditures and statement of accounts to ensure regulatory compliance and fiscal integrity.
In addition, she has had significant impact on budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural changes in the Pulmonary / Critical Care Division prior to her retirement. Ms. Schutz will spend an estimated 6-8 hours per month as a member of the Board of Directors and serve as Secretary and Treasurer due to her vast experience and expertise in these areas prior to her retirement. “In addition to her managerial and administrative experience, Ms. Schutz has a unique perspective and provides particular value to the WipeDiseases Foundation because she has personal experience with a chronic illness…she has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and requires supplemental oxygen 24/7, despite having successfully stopped smoking over 22 years ago (last cigarette was on February 1, 1995.” Ms. Schutz will spend an estimated 6-8 hours per month as a member.
